I chose to write about the media and its responsibilities, in this paper I am going to have a debate about the responsibilities of the media to the public and how we should be watchful of the information we taking part in. There is two main theories in media ethics, the authoritarian theory and Social responsibility theory. The authoritarian theory press was seen as a very controlling tool, and those in authority used it to convey only that information that they wanted the public to know. Social responsibility theory of media ethics has become the norm now. This theory inspires self control of the media, for the good of the society. The media have developed into a major issue of our times and the control it has had on juvenile and aged. In my view, media today on occasion goes beyond its boundaries. Journalists have to present citizens with every small aspect of what is going on in the world or any other particular place there are many other tasks for the media to acknowledge. Some of them are given: 1) Media be required to work for the information of public view. 2) Media should work for civilization. 3) Media has to do something for the clarification of issues by presenting the opinion of experts. 4) Media should throw light on an issue.. 5) Media should offer guide line to the adolescence. 6) Media should condemn the criminal behavior.
